Martin Mans (1965)

The organist Martin Mans started playing at the age of seven. At the early age of 14 he won various youth concourses and as a result the performed on the radio. At the age of 13 he was appointed as a church organist in his place of birth Melissant on the island Goeree-Overflakkee. Since 1995 he is church organist in the Breepleinkerk in Rotterdam. In his profession as conductor and organist he recorded or cooperated in over 400 CD-recordings. Very famous are his own series with organ improvisations.

Gold and Platinum award
The organist was awarded a golden CD for his number 1 improvisations which only seldom occurs in this specific music style. Later on he even received a platinum award for accompanying the Holland Boys Choir on the Christmas Carol CD. At this modern time in which DVD’s are being produced, Martin Mans released two different organs DVD’s in two big churches in Rotterdam and Bolsward. 

150 concerts a year
On a yearly basis Martin Mans performs in more than 150 concerts. His organs concerts are famous and well-visited in the Netherlands as well as abroad. He made organs tours in South-Africa, Canada, America and Australia. Since 2005 he plays together with the Dutch piano phenomenon Jan Vayne, who became famous at the inauguration of Bill Clinton. Their duo-concerts are a genuine hype in the Netherlands at the moment. Martin Mans is also the accompanist of the Urker Mannen Ensemble which is conducted by Pieter-Jan Leusink. In summer they perform in Friesland in the 11 villages where the Dutch ice skate event ’De Elfstedentocht’ is helt. 

Director of Male Choirs
On top of the above activities Martin Mans is the conductor of several male choirs who are very successful in the Netherlands. Finally Martin Mans writes music and arranges choir music which is published at various Dutch publishers.
